The branch provides information about bilingualism across the lifespan. Its specialist areas of expertise are: bilingualism from birth – simultaneous bilingual development; English as an Additional Language learners; and language attrition in adults. Our aim is to work collaboratively with the Reading branch of Bilingualism Matters to provide advice services to parents of bilingual children, teachers, nursery staff, and speech language therapist to support bilingual development and maintenance as well as ensure best practice. Our outreach work is mainly set in London and East Anglia.

Our annual interdisciplinary research conference is on again this year, with a two-day programme packed with the latest bilingualism research and practice. The conference is held at the University of Edinburgh, UK and online. Call for proposals opening soon!
