UNESCO's Futures of Education is a global initiative to reimagine how knowledge and learning can shape the future of humanity and the planet. Through this initiative, UNESCO proposes to consider the role of education as a common good in 2050 and beyond. It takes education as the key to building a more sustainable planet and more equal societies.
Earlier this year, Bilingualism Matters produced three reports for this initiative in consultation with our members and stakeholders, focusing on the crucial role of languages in education.
The International Commission recently released a Progress Update (March 2021) providing background information on the initiative and its ambitions, along with a provisional outline of the report, and an explanation of the main points and arguments.

Bilingualism Matters has also submitted four case study reports to the Commission in support of the arguments put forward.
